serve as missionaries to teach the deaf in remote
areas, our research indicates that in Colombia
South America the estimated population of deaf
people in the capital "Bogotá" is about 500,000.

However, outside of Bogotá there are 1,118
remote areas, each have a deaf population
between 300 to 221,000 deaf people. Without
the assistance of electronic technology, 1,118
missionaries would be needed to fulfill the
commission..
